Welcome and thank you for being interested in becoming a Substitute Paraprofessional
Note: The overall SWOCOG does not typically employ substitute educational aides (paraprofessionals). However, Warren County ESC does use them exclusively in some of our special needs programs.
Onboarding Instructions:
1. Obtain an Educational Aide Permit through ODEW (Ohio Department of Education & Workforce Development).

- OH|ID Login-Apply for License
- When asked for a Superintendent’s signature enter the following IRN number:
-Warren County ESC (IRN 050401)
2. Complete Background Checks (BCI/FBI)
***Complete Step 1 before scheduling your background checks.
- If your BCI/FBI was completed within 365 days of being hired, we will accept these copies.
- If you do not have BCI/FBI reports, or they were completed more than 365 days ago, you will need to complete new background checks.
3. Email Donna Hamilton after completing steps 1 & 2 to let her know you are ready to complete the Substitute New Hire packet (Online Employment Application).
4. Substitute New Hire Packet
- You will receive an Email from No-Reply Cog Subs to complete your Substitute New Hire Packet (Online Employment Application).
- Once completed, email Donna Hamilton to let her know you have finished the packet.
5. Substitute Paraprofessional New Hire Training Requirement
- Public School Works will send you an email with a link to access your New Hire Training course.
- You will have ongoing access to the new hire training course via your Public School Works account.
6. Set up Your Absence Management account in Frontline
- You will receive a “Personal email Invitation” from Frontline.
- Set up your account and begin accepting assignments.
- Refer to the New Hire Training course in your Public School Works account if you need assistance.
